Well, as you know we attended a wedding this weekend. On every table was a cake. This inspired me to try and make a cake for my bff Ash's wedding. Actually, I thought I could do better than the cakes at the wedding...well maybe not so much! Anyway, I went and spent about $140 and bought the stuff. I started making little cherry blossom flowers yesterday, and they turned out really cute! This inspired me to maybe start my own cake company called:::: Cakes Couture (sp???) by Holley. Ha! Ha! Maybe I should learn to spell it first. So, I made fondant and put it in the fridge along with 4 strawberry cakes. This a.m. I frosted them with cream cheese icing (oh so delish!) Then comes the hard part...the fondant. This time it turned out much thicker than last time. There were many, many flaws with the fondant. Anyway, I got the cakes covered. This is only my 2nd fondant cakes...so give me a break. The cakes are a bit crooked, but not too bad. I mixed brown frosting and started covering the mistakes with the cherry blossom branches. A disaster to say the least! Anyway...on to the flowers and the love birds for the cake topper. These are all things Ash likes...what can I say..I tried! And here folks...is the end result!. The first is the cake I was modeling...and here is mine...not so great..but I gave it alot of effort!
So there it is! A rookie fondant cake!
Well, ta!ta! for now! P.S. Can't you crazy people just let a girl be excited about getting married?? How about some questions...a little support maybe? She's not asking for much! I'm sorry you guys are so miserable and jealous because she has made something of herself! This is all I have to say: "Don't HATE...Appreciate!"
